Pre-requisites
Prior to entry to "Y University" all employees must complete the New Employee Orientation series, Child Abuse Prevention training, Blood-borne Pathogens, CPR/First Aid (if required for their job). These courses will be counted only once towards degree requirements. Other courses may require pre-requisites as stated in course description. Proof of pre-requisites may be required.
Registration Process
Employees (students) can register for a course through their YMCA branch until the course is full or no later than one week prior to the beginning of the course. Late registration is determined by each Instructor. In order for a student's YMCA branch to finance a course, the student must have a supervisor's written approval prior to registration. After registering, it is advised that students keep documentation for their personal records. Without this documentation, students must pay the course fee on their own.

Attendance and Course Credit Policy
Attendance is required for the entire course, class or workshop in order for a student to receive credit. If any part of the course is missed, it is up to the instructor to determine whether a student passes the course or not. In addition, some courses require students to successfully pass an exam to receive credit. Students who do not pass or complete the course requirements will receive an incomplete and will need to retake and repay for the course. Students that have completed courses prior to January 2002 and/or have transferred from another YMCA may grandfather a maximum of 24 credits towards their degree. For assistance on credit points, please refer to the Office of Student/Academic Affairs or the College Dean for your area of study.
