YMCA OF FLORIDA'S FIRST COAST LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
Leadership Institute is a component of Y University that focuses on developing and strengthening the leadership capacity of the YMCA of Florida's First Coast. The institute is geared to Executive level and higher staff but may be appropriate for some senior level program directors. The intent is to improve leadership knowledge and practice, resulting in improved development and retention of YMCA staff at all levels.
All Executive Directors, Vice Presidents, and Senior Vice Presidents are automatically included in the institute. Senior leadership can also recommend participants for the institute. The primary criteria for selection should be the clear passion and commitment of the candidate for the YMCA mission and core values as reflected in their work with colleagues and clients. These criteria often will involve a gut-level decision.
Leadership Institute will be "kicked off" this Fall of 2002. Until that point, an assessment will be completed to establish the specific criteria and method in the delivery of workshops and seminars.
